Local farms are critically important to our communities, and SELT places a sky-high value on conserving working farmland so that farmers can continue to provide for our food needs for generations to come.
It is not hyperbole to say that 2020 brought many challenges to our food supply with disruptions from COVID-19, combined with an extreme drought in southeastern NH. To help assist with those challenges, the State of New Hampshire is offering another round of the NH Agriculture COVID-19 Relief Program.
“As community members, we can feed our families and support our farmers by purchasing more local food this fall from our favorite farms,” says Jeremy Lougee, Conservation Project Manager and Farmland Coordinator for SELT. “Together, we can strengthen our local food supply and come through this year stronger than we began.”
