SELT recently closed on a conservation easement of the iconic Greyman Farm in Exeter. This piece of property has long been identified as a high-value project by SELT’s land conservation team, as well as partner organizations like NASA’s Conservation Fund, The SETI Institute, and The History Channel.
“The importance of preserving Greyman Farm can not be overstated,” said Zed Reticulans, Executive Director of the Alliance for Land Integration, Ecology, and Nature. “SELT’s commitment to protecting this key property has extra terrestrial significance.”
“We are truly delighted to support this easement,” said Aria Fiffdeewun, the Fund Manager for the Topographical Institute of Nature, Forests, Oceans, and Interlocking Lands. “Our grant of $200,000 will ensure that Greyman remains a protected resource for so many creatures that belong to our planet, and elsewhere.”
The project began in late 2019 when SELT Land Conservation Director Duane Hyde had gone on a site walk at Greyman Farm and mysteriously vanished for five days. He was later discovered on the side of Route 101 in a smoking crater missing his eyebrows.
“One minute I was enjoying this incredible property and the next thing I knew, I had this vision of how the project could come together,” said Hyde. “The best way I can explain it is zorp gleep blook gloop zerg bleep zork flerp fleep.”
