Wetlands as Wildlife Habitat Workshop *WAITLIST*
September 20, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
This program is at capacity. Please register for the waitlist and we’ll be in touch if space becomes available.
Wetlands are required habitat for many NH wildlife and most species use wetlands at some point in their life. The term “wetland” actually encompasses many different habitat types including rivers & streams, ponds, marshes and swamps and each functions in its own particular way as habitat for different wildlife. Join Matt Tarr (UNH Cooperative Extension Wildlife Habitat Specialist) for a walking tour of the wetland habitats on the Tucker-French Family Forest. You will learn how to identify different wetland types, what specific habitat components of wetlands are especially important for wildlife, and what wildlife species use each habitat component. We will also discuss different methods for protecting wetlands in our communities and things you can do on your land to maintain and enhance wetland habitat for wildlife. Bring your binoculars!
