Leighton Forest Tour (Waiting List Only)

Join Land Conservation Director, Duane Hyde, for a tour of the proposed Leighton Forest, a hidden gem tucked less than a mile northwest from the Stonehouse Forest and straddling the town line of Barrington and Strafford. Check out the healthy forests, some unusual forest types, and diverse wetlands.

We may adventure all the way down to Stonehouse Brook: a boulder strewn stream reminiscent of a north country river, with its high-quality waters sourced by Stonehouse Pond (part of SELT’s Stonehouse Forest).

Learn how the forest is the result of the fine conservation and stewardship work of Roger and Justine Leighton. This hike will be 2.5-3 miles and will involve some off trail walking through the woods over moderate terrain.
