Now this is cool! Our good friends over at the Farmington Water Department recently received a cool, refreshing honor: they earned the Bronze Medal in the nationwide 24th Annual Great American Water Taste Test, presented by the National Rural Water Association.
The Taste Test itself was held on February 8 in in Washington, D.C., during the organization’s Rural Water Rally (say that three times fast). Over the course of 2022, rural utilities from across the nation competed to represent their state and Farmington became New Hampshire’s representative thanks to their water treatment efforts.
One of SELT’s core focuses for its conservation work is drinking water protection, and over the years we have been active in conserving parcels in Farmington precisely for this purpose. Specifically, the Hills project and part of the recently conserved Clyde Farm are within the watershed protection area of Farmington’s Well 6.
Great work Farmington! Check out the WMUR story here.
