The UNH Flax-to-Linen Project was initiated in Spring 2023 and is based on methodologies both experiential – planting, growing and processing flax into fiber -- and archival-- based on New Hampshire history and research. Working with graduate students and undergraduates, it is a community-based, public-facing project providing learners of all ages and opportunity to work with this important fiber. The UNH Flax Files holds hands-on-history events including demonstrations and talks throughout the Seacoast.
