SUMMARY:Post-Harvest Forestry Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join Licensed Foresters Charlie Moreno and Debbie Goard\, SELT’s Stewardship and Land Engagement Director\, and landowner Phil Primack for a post-harvest tour of Pawtuckaway River Reservation. We will visit harvested areas from the winter of 2021/2022 and discuss different management strategies SELT implements with the goal to improve forest health and wildlife habitat. This property showcases forest stands with different forest management strategies used over time. We will also learn about slash management\, skid trails\, and landings. DESCRIPTION:Join Licensed Forester Jon Martin for a forestry hiking tour of Birch Ridge Community Forest in New Durham. Learn more about the history of the property\, the planning that goes into a timber harvest\, why certain trees are selected to be harvested or as crop management\, and how the forest will respond in the future.
