DESCRIPTION:Meet us at the Piscassic Greenway for a bi-weekly kid-led nature exploration as part of our new Forest Friday series. This series will be led by Nature-Based Educators Kim Cote and Lizzy Franceschini and will offer supervised kid-led exploration and unstructured outdoor play for kids aged 0-5 and their guardians. DESCRIPTION:Due to high demand we have added another session for this workshop! Join SELT for this special guest workshop led by Matthew Tarr\, UNH Cooperative Extension Professor & Wildlife Specialist\, and Greg Jordan\, UNHCE Rockingham County Forester\, to learn how to recognize and improve habitat for wildlife in forests\, fields\, and wetlands. The workshop will be held outdoors at SELT’s Burley Farms in Epping and include a slow-paced off-trail walk over moderate terrain\, with many stops for discussion \nDuring this workshop we will visit forest\, field\, and wetland habitats where you will learn: \n\nHow to recognize specific features that comprise each habitat type\nWhat and how specific wildlife species use each feature as habitat\nHow to create or enhance habitat opportunities for specific wildlife\n\nBefore attending the workshop\, please watch Intro to Assessing and Managing Wildlife Habitat (33 min). SUMMARY:Nature Drawing Series: Trees - WAIT LIST ONLY
DESCRIPTION:Join SELT and Taintor Child\, a local artist and art educator\, for a two-part Nature Drawing Series – come for any or all sessions! The group will practice drawing from observation and/or use items from Taintor’s personal nature collection for inspiration. For this first session we will be focusing on all things trees using bark\, leaves\, and seeds. Feel free to bring your own items along as well! Grab your notebook/sketchpad and sign up as there are limited spots available for this series. Beginners welcome! \nFrom Taintor Child: \n“I am a visual artist\, a caring and experienced art educator\, an inspiring\, reflective\, and skilled art exhibit and event organizer. I have taught people ages 3-85 with varied abilities in small and large groups\, conducted individual and semi-private art\, natural history and/or writing workshops. Since 1976\, my paintings and drawings have shown in numerous New England Galleries as well as Academic and Community venues.
