DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin Land Conservation Director\, Duane Hyde\, for snowshoe around the beautiful Leighton Forest\, a current SELT conservation project that is a hidden gem tucked less than a mile northwest from the Stonehouse Forest right on the town line of Barrington and Strafford. Enjoy the wintery landscape of this incredibly well-managed forest which houses some unusual forest types\, and diverse wetlands. Learn about how the stewardship work of Roger and Justine Leighton created such a special place. Join wildlife biologists Haley Andreozzi and Emma Tutein from UNH Cooperative Extension as they guide you through fields\, forests\, and wetlands in search of winter wildlife tracks and signs. You’ll also learn how to use wildlife sign to interpret wildlife behavior and habitat use. \nThis workshop will take place entirely outdoors at SELT conserved Burley Farms in Epping\, NH\, so come prepared and dress for winter weather. Bring a snack\, plenty of water\, and your own snowshoes or traction devices. Detailed location and parking information will be provided to registered participants. \nSpecial COVID-19 Safety Precautions: Program will be limited to 10 participants\, with social-distancing and masks required. Participants will be required complete a simple online health screening before leaving home. \nIn order to ensure this program is accessible for all\, there are three registration fee options – $5\, $15\, or $25. DESCRIPTION:  \nStrap on your snowshoes and bundle up! SELT Land Manager\, T. Parker Schuerman\, will be leading a winter adventure up Rattlesnake Mountain. Get outside and enjoy the gorgeous views at the lovely Birch Ridge Community Forest in New Durham. \nAfter the snowshoe\, the group will have the option to drive up to the cabin at the Birch Ridge Community Forest where the folks from Powder Mill Snowmobile Club will have a nice fire going so you can warm up. BYO hotdogs\, sausages\, or whatever your heart desires and roast them yourself so that you can enjoy a hot lunch in good (socially distanced) company. We’ll have condiment packages for hot dogs\, but due to COVID you’ll need to bring your own food and beverages.
