SUMMARY:Teneriffe Mountain Hike with SELT & Moose Mountains Regional Greenways
DESCRIPTION:Join SELT and Moose Mountains Regional Greenways for fun early spring hike at Teneriffe Mountain Forest. The hike will include going up ‘The Long Trek’ trail to ‘Panish Picnic Path’ to the peak and back down to ‘The Carlos Amigos Trail’ to ‘Phil’s Way’ and back to the parking area. This length of the hike will be approximately 2.5 miles. This hike is considered strenuous with sections that are steep and eroded. SUMMARY:SELT/Waste Management Conservation Easements Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that SELT has two conservation easements with Waste Management along the Cocheco River beside Pickering Ponds? Join us for a fun and informative tour of the easements with SELT and Waste Management staff members to learn about these interesting properties\, about SELT easements\, about Waste Management’s environmental programs and priorities\, and a little about the history of the properties and the surrounding area. Some of the historical context will include the old Christmas tree farm\, the remains of the bridge that crossed the Cocheco via England Road\, and much more. \nIn attendance from SELT will be Katie Bates\, Conservation Easement Steward and Derrick Trent\, Events and Outreach Specialist.
