INTERESTS – Please check all that apply:


Help with office tasks such as filing, scanning, and mailings.

  • Requirements: Attention to detail and basic computer skills.

 Conservation Easement Monitors & Land Stewards:

Hike and monitor Conservation Easement Lands and SELT Reservations.

  • Requirements: Must be able to read maps and surveys and use a compass (training provided). Must be comfortable being alone in the woods and be able to hike through moderately rugged terrain.


Leading field trips, running information tables.

  • Requirements: Good communication skills, knowledge of SELT’s mission and the ability to field questions; access to a vehicle that can transport a 5 foot table, box of informational materials, and a pop up tent for outreach events.


Events include: The Wild and Scenic Film Festival, The Annual Conservation Celebration, SELT TrailFEST, & The Fall Foliage Fundraiser.

  • Requirements: Vary depending on the event.

 Property Management:

Work days doing trail maintenance and construction, invasive plant pulling, habitat restoration, kiosk & bridge building.

  • Requirements for trail maintenance, invasive pulling & habitat restoration: Ability to use hand tools such as shovel, pruning shears, pick axe (training provided).
  • Requirements for bridge & kiosk building: Comfort using power tools and equipment, the ability to lift 50 pounds.


Research and Writing projects: write newsletter articles, conduct and write up interviews, do short term research projects as they arise.

  • Requirements: Must have strong writing skills and attention to detail, might involve some travel.


Take photos at SELT events, field trips, and properties. Monitor and maintain wildlife cameras on SELT properties.

  • A camera and enthusiasm! (Wildlife camera provided)

 Citizen Science:

Identify, inventory, and report plant & wildlife species and habitats. Monitor and maintain wildlife cameras on SELT properties.

  • Requirements: Plant & wildlife identification skills, familiarity with GPS unit, ability to read maps and hike through moderately rugged terrain.
