Recent LCHIP Awards Expand Public Access and Protect Farmland

LCHIP – the Land and Community Heritage Investment Program continues to be a critical partner in advancing significant conservation projects in our region.  This past December LCHIP awarded grants to the Town of Salem for its 165-acre expansion of the Salem Town Forest and the Town of Barrington for the conservation of the 53-acre Barr property along the Isinglass River, which includes the popular Barrington Trail.   For both of these projects, SELT will hold the eventual conservation easement.  SELT’s was directly awarded funding for the Growing the Musquash initiative in Londonderry and for the second phase of the conserving the Bodwell Farm in Kensington.  Please be sure you express your support for the continued funding of LCHIP through the state’s biennial budget!
