Alnoba launches Speaker Series on September 20th with sculptor John Lopez
Alnoba, the premier destination for Retreats, Leadership, and Wellness, is proud to announce the 2017 Speaker Series schedule, to be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 PM. Speakers and topics will vary weekly, and focus on The Four Pillars of Alnoba: Leadership; Conservation and Sustainability; Health and Wellness; and the Arts. The events will be held in the Great Room at Alnoba, located at 24 Cottage Road, Kensington, NH.
The inaugural speaker will be sculptor John Lopez. In the midst of a successful career in bronze sculpting, John discovered this exciting new direction: scrap iron sculpting. John found a way to merge the two art forms into a new hybrid sculpture of everyday objects mixed with limited edition bronze castings. Hybrid metal art is a sculptural fusion of figurative and funk; a blend of iron and bronze.
At Alnoba, they believe that art has the power to awaken reflections and creativity. They are mindful to create a space that fuels reflections and inner growth. John’s sculpture, Wild West Buffalo, is located on the field in front of Alnoba; Black Hawk is the signature sculpture at The Farm at Eastman’s Corner and The Acrobat is a smaller, more playful piece at the entrance to Sawyer Park in Kensington, NH.
On September 20th, learn about John’s career, his process and what inspires him. This event is Free to the public, but seating is limited. For more information about this event or the Speaker Series, please email: RSVP@Alnoba.org
